How DML Helps You Succeed at Every Stage of the Research Life Cycle (Part Two!)

Posted in Announcements

No matter where you are in your research journey, DML offers resources, expert guidance, and tools to help the GUMC Community move forward.   Here’s part two of  how we can support you through every phase, from publishing to assessment.  Missed Part One? Take a look at it here.

Presenting and Publishing

Through the DML collection of online guides, you can explore topics such as copyrightopen access, and store your material in the DigitalGeorgetown repository.   Workshops on copyright, open access, preprints, and related topics are offered throughout the year. You can also meet with a librarian to receive help with selecting an appropriate journal, navigating copyright concerns, and addressing other questions that arise during the publishing process.

Promotion and Outreach

To support promotion and outreach, the DML maintains online guides for ORCID and provides assistance for GUFaculty360 along with other helpful tools. A selection of eBooks is also available for those interested in learning more about these topics. Workshops and consultations are offered on a regular basis to help you make the most of your ORCID iD and to strengthen your professional visibility.

Assessment

When you are ready to assess the impact of your work, the DML provides access to databases such as Web of Science and Google Scholar.  Workshops   are held throughout the year to help you understand how these tools differ. Consultations are available to guide you through visualizing your research impact using visualizations and to help you interpret various research metrics.

Partner with DML to make every stage of your research a success. From idea generation to proposal development and data management, our tools and expertise are here to assist you every step of the way.
