Elevator Replacement at DML: May 19 – August 19 2025

Dahlgren Memorial Library’s 60-year-old elevator is scheduled to be replaced between May 19 and August 19. Below are some details to keep in mind.

Library Hours:
DML will remain open daily from 8:00 AM – Midnight.

Construction Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Some work may occur on other days

Noise Levels:
Expect intermittent noise during the day.
There may be a few days with jackhammering.
Noise-cancelling headphones and earplugs will be available at the Information Services Desk for those who need them.

Accessibility:

Individuals that are unable to use stairs have access to the DML Ground Level spaces only.

TBL Impact:
The 2nd floor Team-Based Learning (TBL) space will remain open for individual and small group study, though with reduced seating.
New reservations for large groups in TBL may not be possible during the summer.
