Ebook Central Format Change

Ebook Central eBooks will experience a format change from PDF to EPUB in late February, 2025
The display format will change from PDF to EPUB, where EPUB stands for Electronic Publication.
The change will impact most of the eBooks in Dahlgren Library’s Ebook Central collection.

There will be changes to the page numbers and citations due to EPUB’s responsive format. It is
recommended that those who link to pages in syllabi and curriculum should use chapter or
section numbers in relation to links and citations.

Many benefits will come of this change for those with specific accessibility needs:

• Scalable text: increase text size without losing quality or layout
• High contrast and custom colors: Choose modes or schemes for improved readability
• Embedded multimedia: Includes audio and video
•  Voice commands and TTS: Control and listen with voice commands
