Troubleshooting the DML Printers

  1. If the print station has an error message on the bottom of the screen, write it down and save it. You will need it if the problem is not temporary.
  2. Confirm that both print stations in the BACC and the DML Lobby do not work.
    1. If only one print station is not functioning, reboot the workstation using the power button on the right side of the machine.
    2. If this reboot fails to solve the problem, please contact Ali Nabavi via email. Be sure to include:
      1. Your name
      2. Which computer you printed from
      3. A copy of the document, if possible
      4. The error message on the screen from the print station, if possible
    3. If both print stations do not function, reboot both. If the reboot does not solve the problem for both print stations, proceed to step 3.
  3. If both print stations do not work after reboot during unstaffed hours, please report the problem to UIS.
    1. Call the UIS Help Desk hotline: 202.687.4949
    2. If it is not during Help Desk working hours, press the number 6 on your phone.
    3. Report the following information to the Operations Center operator:
      1. Your name
      2. Your phone number
      3. “All print stations in the Dahlgren Library are not working. We have restarted them, and they still do not work. Can you please have the Pharos server administrator confirm there is not an outage?”
      4. Report additional information, including the error message, if possible.
  4. Follow the instructions of the UIS Operations Center operator. If problem persists, contact them to request a status update after one hour.
  5. If the UIS Operations Center operator confirms the problem is resolved, reboot the print stations again.
